A Power Hour is a fundraising technique designed to help a station raise a day's worth of money in 60 minutes, usually on the first day of the drive.
Properly implemented, Power Hours can raise tens of thousands of dollars. Some stations have been successfully using Power Hours to start their pledges drives for 6 to 7 years.
In 2004, Audience Research Analysis asked John Sutton & Associates to create a Power Hour training workshop for its clients. We presented that workshop at the 2004 PRDMC and gave stations a do-it-yourself Power Hour kit.
ARA has agreed to let us offer the kit via RadioSutton.com. It is free to any public radio station. Just download the materials below.
Our thanks to KJZZ, WOUB, and WFDD for allowing us to share their Power Hour materials. Note: the sample audio is not available at this time. We will add it soon.
